Wednesday 8/29/12

Hi! Today we worked on writing stories that are small moments in our lives! Students did a great job drawing their illustration and matching their sentences with their words. Encourage your child to stretch out their words to hear all the s-o-u-n-d-s in the words.

Homework:

Spelling: Rainbow Write (see spelling notebook)

Math: Worksheet on adding with drawing counters and words problems

Reading: Re-read "Fan and Nan" pg 51 and "We Can" these are easy decode-able stories or your child can read another story. (This might be too easy for some students) record reading in log.

Hi! Today we learned about our weekly sight words. These words are not their Spelling words. students are responsible to practice these sight words nightly. Sight words make up 70% of words that students will encounter when reading. Sight words are not easy to decode so students will need to memorize them. Practice makes progress!
